President Lee Jae Myung will meet Britain's Princess Anne and her husband on Tuesday to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between South Korea and the United Kingdom.

Cheong Wa Dae said Monday that Princess Anne and her husband will visit South Korea for three days, from Tuesday through July 15.

The visit marks Princess Anne's first trip to South Korea in eight years, since she attended the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics as a member of the International Olympic Committee. The British royal family has consistently maintained ties with South Korea over the years, including a state visit by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1999.

"Through this meeting, discussions will take place on ways to strengthen cooperation between South Korea and the United Kingdom — global strategic partners — across a wide range of areas including high-level exchanges, trade and investment, science and technology, and culture, as well as on major regional developments," Cheong Wa Dae said.
