The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZ) hosted an exchange event between Korean and Japanese IT companies at the Digital Innovation Promotion Institute inside Suseong Alpha City on Friday, welcoming an inspection delegation of IT firms affiliated with the Japan Computer System Dealers Association (JCSSA).

The visit was arranged as part of JCSSA's annual Asian IT company inspection tour, which includes a stop in South Korea each year.

The delegation included Koyama Toshiyuki, executive director of JCSSA — which counts 440 ICT member companies across Japan — along with senior executives from major Japanese system integrator Fuji Soft Inc., mobility software specialist Systena Corp. and Dynabook Inc., a member of the Sharp Group.

The Korea-Japan IT Partnership Day was held at the Solar Hall of the Digital Innovation Promotion Institute (DIP), the flagship business support organization at Suseong Alpha City. Attendees included DGFEZ Innovation and Growth Division head Kim Hee-seok, representatives from 12 Japanese IT firms in the inspection delegation and officials from 10 companies based at Suseong Alpha City.

The Japanese delegation visited Suseong Alpha City — the largest ICT cluster outside the Greater Seoul area — after completing a Seoul itinerary coordinated with IT-related associations in the metropolitan area. There, they met with Daegu-based IT companies to explore potential business cooperation.

"Building on this exchange, we will continue to facilitate inter-company engagement and support to strengthen the cooperative network in digital new industries between IT firms of both countries and generate new investment outcomes through shared growth," Kim said.
