The transition committee for the ninth civil administration-era Gangbuk-gu district mayor has wrapped up its activities by delivering to District Mayor Jung Chang-soo an action plan outlining implementation strategies for all 56 of his campaign pledges.
The document compiles pledge implementation plans submitted by each district office department, based on official work briefings, and lays out concrete steps for fulfilling the commitments Jung made during the election campaign.
Transition committee chair Kim Sang-eon said the panel had done its best to review two weeks of work briefings and pledge implementation plans and produce a realistic roadmap. "Policy proposals from various residents will be forwarded separately for further discussion by the relevant departments," he said. He added that he hoped the action plan would serve as a springboard for Gangbuk-gu to take a further step forward under the ninth civil administration era.
The transition committee was officially launched with an inauguration ceremony on June 11. It held committee and advisory board sessions from July 15 to July 19, then convened plenary sessions on pledge implementation from July 22 to July 26 to prepare the action plan. The committee subsequently compiled all deliberations through Thursday, July 9, before handing the pledge action plan to Jung on Friday, July 10.
"I am deeply grateful to committee chair Kim Sang-eon, the transition committee members, advisory board members, and working-level staff for their hard work in producing this valuable action plan," Jung said. "I will make sure to be a district mayor who carries out every item in this plan over the next four years."
With Friday's handover ceremony, the committee — which launched officially on June 11 — concluded all of its scheduled activities. Kim Sang-eon set an unusual record by serving as transition committee chair for both the eighth and ninth civil administration eras, marking two consecutive terms in the role.
