President Donald Trump warned Friday that he would order the complete destruction of Iran if the country attempts to assassinate him.
In a post on his Truth Social platform Friday, Trump said that if the Iranian government followed through on what he described as repeated threats to kill a sitting US president — "meaning me" — "1,000 missiles are already loaded and pointed at Iran, with thousands more to immediately follow."
"The order has already been given," he wrote, adding that US forces are "fully prepared, willing and able to decimate and completely destroy all of Iran for a period of one year, extendable if necessary."
He added: "PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!"
Meanwhile, Trump officially declared an end to the truce with Iran earlier that day. But Iran pushed back, vowing there would be "no surrender," as the two countries appeared to be entering a full-scale standoff.
