NH-Amundi Asset Management said Friday it provided 62 young people with hands-on experience in asset management through its participation in the government's Youth Work Experience Program.
The Youth Work Experience Program is a youth employment support policy jointly run by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It aims to give unemployed young people between the ages of 15 and 34 the opportunity to gain practical job experience at private companies.
NH-Amundi Asset Management took part in a project-based initiative organized by operator Crackerbox.
Participants completed preliminary job training in May before spending about eight weeks through late June working on team projects under the mentorship of professionals in each field. They presented their results at a ceremony held Friday.
The company ran projects across four areas: digital marketing, retirement pension marketing, bond research and environmental, social and governance (ESG) research.
Each project was designed for participants to produce actual work outputs. The company supported the young people in building practical skills by giving them direct exposure to the asset management field in a hiring environment that increasingly emphasizes job competencies.
"Participating in the Youth Work Experience Program was an opportunity to share our firm's expertise with young people preparing to enter the financial sector," said Gil Jeong-seop, chief executive of NH-Amundi Asset Management. "We hope it serves as a meaningful stepping stone as they chart their career paths."
NH-Amundi Asset Management also engages in a range of other social contribution activities, including volunteer work in rural communities. Last month, employees visited a grape farm in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province. The company conducts regular rural volunteer activities at least four times a year to help ease seasonal labor shortages and fulfill the broader social responsibilities of the NongHyup cooperative network.
