Singer Kim Jong-kook's mother has shared her thoughts on leaving the SBS variety show "My Little Old Boy" following her son's marriage.
A video titled "Even a Mother Past 80 Can't Escape PT" was posted Thursday on Kim Jong-kook's YouTube channel.
In the video, Kim traveled to Las Vegas to belatedly celebrate his mother's 80th birthday.
"An unexpected schedule change suddenly freed up a few days, so I took my mother on a trip," Kim said. "She turned 80 last year, but with everything that was going on, I wasn't able to do anything special for her. I put this together in a hurry to mark her birthday."
Upon arriving in Las Vegas, his mother expressed her delight. "Thanks to my youngest son, I get to visit such a wonderful place and see so many amazing things," she said. "I'm so grateful."
During their conversation, Kim and his mother discussed their departure from "My Little Old Boy," a show they had appeared on together for years before naturally stepping away after his marriage. Kim asked his mother whether she felt any regret about no longer being on the program.
"Of course I can't appear now that my son is married," she replied. "I'm happier that he got married."
Kim married a non-celebrity in September last year. Details about his spouse, including her age and occupation, have not been made public.
