Yeungnam University College of Science and Technology and Yeungnam University jointly hosted a forum Tuesday between contracted specialized high schools and universities in the Yeongnam region, held at the main conference room of Yeungnam University College of Science and Technology.

The forum was organized to build a cooperative framework between contracted specialized high schools and universities and to foster an educational ecosystem connecting students with pathways to higher education and employment.

Representatives from Yeungnam University College of Science and Technology and Yeungnam University were joined by officials from Yeungnam Technical High School, North Gyeongsang Machinery and Metals High School, Gyeongju Information High School, Silla Technical High School and Geumsaem High School — all contracted specialized high schools in the Yeongnam region — to share plans for mutual cooperation.

Participants reviewed the progress of the contracted specialized high school program and heard updates and future plans from each school. They exchanged views on supporting student development through university partnerships, covering curriculum alignment, college entrance support, employment assistance and expanded industry-academia cooperation.

Lee Jae-yong, president of Yeungnam University College of Science and Technology, said the institution would work closely with Yeungnam University to further develop an educational continuum linking high schools, two-year colleges, four-year universities and industry. "We will actively support students so they can fully realize their potential," he said.
