Bithumb announced Monday that it is running a promotion with 11Street to offer bitcoin rewards based on customers' shopping purchases.

Under the partnership, existing Bithumb members who buy products on 11Street will earn bitcoin equivalent to 1 percent of their purchase amount, up to 5,000 won per month.

New Bithumb members will receive bitcoin worth 10 percent of their first month's purchases, with a maximum reward of 50,000 won ($33).

Customers who complete at least one transaction on Bithumb during the promotion period will also receive an additional 30,000 won in 11Pay points, usable as cash on 11Street.

To participate, customers must sign up for an 11Street account and agree to the Bithumb partnership terms. Those who complete the account linkage will immediately receive 1,100 won.

Bitcoin rewards earned based on purchase amounts will be available two days after the purchase confirmation date. Users can convert them to bitcoin through the "Convert" button on the "Bitcoin Rewards" page within 11Street.

The bitcoin reward benefit is available to members who have completed Bithumb's know-your-customer identity verification and registered a Korean won deposit and withdrawal account with KB Kookmin Bank.

"We hope this promotion gives customers an easy and familiar way to experience digital assets," a Bithumb official said. "As digital assets expand their presence in everyday life, we will continue to roll out a variety of promotions that people can feel in their daily routines."

Meanwhile, Bithumb recently revamped its "Privacy Center" to more transparently communicate its personal data protection activities to users. Through the center, the company plans to disclose how it handles personal information and its data protection efforts in accordance with relevant laws.
