Actor Go Du-shim has opened up about her longing for the late Kim Su-mi.

Go appeared on Monday's episode of tvN STORY's "Nam Gyeoseo Mwo Hage," a lifestyle talk show, alongside Jo Hana and Park Suncheon.

That day, Go was walking into a restaurant on Jeju Island when she spotted a photo of the late Kim and could not take her eyes off it.

"I still think about Sumi unni's face," Go said, recalling their time together on the long-running drama series "Jeonwon Ilgi." "Back then, she would just bring a small lunch box with food for the cast — but after the show ended, I noticed she had started carrying around a huge rice cooker."

Go grew visibly emotional as she remembered Kim's generosity on set. "On shoot days, Sumi unni would pack banchan like a buffet and make sure the entire staff was fed," she said.

Park Suncheon recalled learning of Kim's death while riding with Go to a regional performance. "I was in a car with sunbae Go Du-shim on the way to a regional performance when we heard the news," she said. "Sunbae Lee Gye-in was in tears on the way to the funeral home."

Go said food always brings Kim to mind, and she struggled to continue speaking. "Whenever I see food, I think of Sumi unni. She loved to cook for people and feed them," she said, falling silent.

Kim Su-mi died in 2024 at the age of 75. She debuted in 1970 as a third-cohort talent recruit at MBC and went on to win wide affection for her role as Il-yong's mother in the drama series "Jeonwon Ilgi."
