A Chinese national has been arrested after attacking an acquaintance with a knife on a street in downtown Jeju.
The Jeju Western Police Station arrested a Chinese man in his 30s, identified only as A, on aggravated assault charges and is investigating the case, according to Yonhap News Agency.
A is accused of wielding a knife at a fellow Chinese national in his 30s, identified as B, on a street in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju, at around 1 a.m. on Friday.
B sustained injuries to his arm but is not in critical condition.
Officers who responded to the report tracked down and apprehended A within about an hour.
A is believed to have carried out the attack out of resentment after being removed from a social media group chat.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident and plan to seek an arrest warrant for A.
