Rumors that comedians Kim Dae-sung and Na Hyeon-yeong were in a relationship surfaced Thursday — only for their agency to confirm the two had already broken up.
A representative of Na's agency, CL&Company, said Thursday that "Kim Dae-sung and Na Hyeon-yeong have separated and are on comfortable terms as senior and junior colleagues."
Earlier that morning, a media outlet had reported that the two had been dating for more than a year, saying they met through the comedy play "The Guy Was Pretty" and later became a couple.
The breakup was confirmed barely an hour after the dating report was published, rendering the story old news almost immediately.
Kim made his debut in 2008 as part of the 23rd class of KBS open-recruitment comedians and became widely known through the KBS2 program "Gag Concert."
Na debuted in 2016 in the play "The Greatest Love" and built her career in comedy theater, including "The Guy Was Pretty" at comedian Jeong Tae-ho's small theater. At Jeong's encouragement, she passed the KBS open-recruitment audition as part of the 33rd class, making her debut as a comedian.
