Blog logged 1.52 million citations in first half of 2026
The city of Namyangju announced Friday that its official blog has been named the July 2026 Naver Mate of the Month in the social affairs category.
Naver Mate is a program Naver launched in June to recognize creators across its user-generated content services — including blogs, cafes and Knowledge iN — who demonstrate subject-matter expertise, distinctiveness and diversity.
The Namyangju city blog earned the social affairs designation after logging 1.52 million cumulative citations in the first half of 2026, a figure Naver cited as evidence of the blog's credibility and expertise.
The social affairs category covers policy and lifestyle information content. The city said the recognition carried added significance given the blog's role in delivering practical public information to residents.
"This selection as a Naver Mate reflects the efforts our official blog has made to meet citizens' right to know in a rapidly changing digital era," said Won Gyeong-hui, the city's public relations officer. "We will continue to provide the information residents need quickly and accurately, and strengthen our online communication."
The city won the top prize in the blog category at the 2025 SNS Grand Awards, recognition of its social media management capabilities. Namyangju also maintains active channels on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and KakaoTalk to engage with residents.
