Ably, a style commerce platform operated by Ably Corporation, launched an offline reservation service called Ably Place on Thursday.

Ably Place lets users browse and book a variety of offline stores — including workshops and bakeries — directly within the Ably app. The service aims to deliver personalized recommendations by drawing on 150 billion data points accumulated across fashion, beauty, lifestyle and all other categories.

Users can also find stores near popular Seoul neighborhoods such as Seongsu and Konkuk, Hongdae and Yeonnam, and Jongno and Euljiro. The service offers GPS-based "nearby" store searches and personalized product recommendations powered by Ably's own AI personalization technology.

A "What to Do Today" tab at the bottom of the app brings together pickup services from workshops, bakeries and custom cake shops, as well as beauty consulting sessions and classes in crafts, baking and flower arrangement.

During the pilot period in May, orders jumped 5.8 times from the previous month and the number of buyers rose 5.4 times. Total transaction volume over the same period grew 3.6 times month-on-month, with the workshop category particularly standing out — its transaction volume jumped 4.3 times.

Ably said it expects the service to serve as a springboard for small-business sellers by supporting their digital transformation and boosting sales. A company official said, "We aim to be a platform that offers precise recommendations to customers and provides sellers with a foundation for growth."
