Company recognized for stabilizing supply chains in nuclear, SMR and gas turbine sectors

Enerbility division posted record 14.7 trillion won in orders last year

Doosan Enerbility has received a commendation from South Korea's deputy prime minister for economic affairs for its contributions to national economic development and export growth, including the localization of large-scale power generation gas turbines and the opening of overseas markets.

The company announced Wednesday that it received the commendation from Deputy Prime Minister Koo Yun-cheol at the Export-Import Bank of Korea's 50th anniversary ceremony, held Tuesday at the bank's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul. Koo and Export-Import Bank of Korea President Hwang Ki-yeon attended the event, with Doosan Enerbility President Park Sang-hyun accepting the award on behalf of the company.

The commendation recognized the company's achievements in localizing large-scale power generation gas turbines, expanding into overseas markets, and stabilizing supply chains in the nuclear power, small modular reactor and gas turbine sectors.

Doosan Enerbility independently developed a large-scale power generation gas turbine through a government-backed national research project and completed a demonstration at Korea Western Power's Gimpo combined heat and power plant. The company then secured its first overseas export contract for the domestically developed turbine in the North American market last year.

South Korea became the fifth country in the world — after the United States, Germany, Japan and Italy — to independently develop large-scale power generation gas turbine technology, a milestone made possible by Doosan Enerbility's development work.

Doosan Enerbility has also been designated a "supply chain stabilization leader" under a joint initiative by the government and the Export-Import Bank of Korea. Through that program, the company has worked to build a domestic supplier ecosystem and localize key components in the nuclear and gas turbine sectors. Those efforts have strengthened domestic supply chain stability and sharpened the company's competitiveness in global order competitions.

Doosan Enerbility's Enerbility division posted a record 14.7 trillion won ($9.46 billion) in new orders last year, driven by expanded order intake in nuclear power and gas turbines.

"With the financial and policy support of the government and the Export-Import Bank of Korea, we were able to achieve milestones such as the first overseas export of a domestically developed gas turbine and the stabilization of supply chains in the nuclear, SMR and gas turbine sectors," Park said. "We will continue to expand global exports of our core products and contribute to the development of the national economy."
