'Molding 365'
App enables rapid on-site response when injection molding machines break down
LS Mtron announced Thursday that it has launched Molding 365, a dedicated mobile service application for injection molding machines.
Injection molding machines manufacture most plastic products found in everyday life, mass-producing items by injecting heat-melted plastic resin into molds.
Molding 365 is a mobile service platform that lets customers submit service requests from a smartphone and monitor the entire process in real time, from initial submission through completion. The app focuses on enabling rapid on-site response. To that end, it significantly streamlines what had been a cumbersome process of phone and email-based requests.
The app also features convenience functions designed with factory floor workers who may be less familiar with smartphones in mind. A quick-request function lets users scan a QR code attached to a piece of factory equipment and be taken directly to the service request screen for that machine.
The app also includes a per-machine maintenance history function suited to the long service life typical of injection molding machines. Drawing on accumulated data — including inspection records and common fault types for each machine — it is expected to support tailored precision maintenance, helping extend equipment life and ensure stable factory operation.
"We will continue to enhance customer convenience and service quality, becoming a reliable partner that strengthens the production competitiveness of our customers," said Shin Jae-ho, president of LS Mtron.
