Expansion timed to recovery in Korea-China air travel demand

T'way Air said Tuesday it is expanding its China routes in response to a recovery in Korea-China air travel demand and rising tourism demand during the summer vacation season.

The carrier resumed the Incheon-Shenyang route on June 24 and began daily scheduled service on the Incheon-Qingdao and Incheon-Jinan routes Tuesday. Starting Sept. 2, it also plans to resume the Daegu-Zhangjiajie route four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

T'way Air currently operates a range of scheduled routes to China, including Incheon-Wuhan, Cheongju-Yanji and Daegu-Yanji. The latest expansion broadens flight options for travelers between South Korea and China.

The airline will also run charter flights to meet peak summer demand, with services planned on the Incheon-Linyi, Incheon-Yuncheng, Incheon-Hailar, Daegu-Hohhot and Yangyang-Yanji routes to improve travel convenience for passengers moving between the two countries.

T'way Air said it plans to operate scheduled and charter flights flexibly based on market demand, expanding customer choice and strengthening its competitiveness on Korea-China routes.

"We have expanded our services so that more customers can conveniently enjoy travel to China during the summer vacation and holiday season," a T'way Air official said. "We will continue to improve customer satisfaction by tailoring our route operations to seasonal travel demand."

Meanwhile, T'way Air continues to pursue a range of corporate social responsibility activities, including donating proceeds from its "2026 Safety Campaign" ESG (environmental, social and governance) in-house recycling bazaar, held in April, to Save the Children's program supporting play activities for children with disabilities.
