Dongkuk Steel Mill and Dongkuk Coated Metal, the steel business arms of Dongkuk Steel Mill Group, announced Tuesday the publication of their 2026 sustainability reports.

Through the reports, both companies transparently disclosed their ESG (environmental, social and governance) management goals, current status and performance to internal and external stakeholders. To ensure continuity of information, the reports cover activity results from 2025 as well as developments from the first half of 2026.

Dongkuk Steel Mill's report, issued under the slogan "Steel for Green," details the company's progress toward carbon neutrality and its ESG initiatives across all areas. The business section particularly highlights the expansion of its sales portfolio alongside the rollout of "Smart Factory 4.0," a manufacturing innovation initiative.

Among its ESG achievements, Dongkuk Steel Mill cited carbon emission reduction efforts and the establishment of a system to calculate and independently verify Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions across its supply chain. On the social and governance front, the company disclosed its acquisition of a family-friendly enterprise certification, the creation of a co-growth fund and the adoption of a shareholder-friendly dividend policy. Dongkuk Steel Mill received an integrated A rating in the 2025 corporate assessment by the Korea Corporate Governance Service.

Dongkuk Coated Metal's report, issued under the slogan "Clean Move, Green Steel," focuses on embedding a company-wide ESG accountability framework. The company said it has taken proactive steps to defend against regulatory risks amid rapidly shifting trade conditions, including the spread of global protectionism and the full implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.

Notably, Dongkuk Coated Metal publicly disclosed for the first time its results from formal verification by global ESG initiatives. Key highlights include obtaining a Carbon Disclosure Project rating and an EcoVadis medal, strengthening business competitiveness through the acquisition of Ajusteel, and adopting the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures guidelines.

Meanwhile, Dongkuk Steel Mill Group has continued a range of corporate social responsibility activities, including expanding the scholarship program of its affiliated Songwon Cultural Foundation to cover future architecture professionals in addition to its existing focus on science and engineering students.
