The Ulsan Dong-gu Public Health Center was named the top health promotion agency for the seventh consecutive year Tuesday, taking first place in the overall health promotion category at the "2026 Local Government Health Promotion Project Performance Competition," hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare at GS Tower's Amoris Hall in Seoul.

The center has continuously developed demand-driven, tailored health promotion programs that reflect the district's demographic profile, which includes a large population of foreign nationals and subcontractor workers.

At the best-practices presentation that day, the center introduced its community-based health promotion model under the theme "365+ Building a Healthier Dong-gu Together," highlighting efforts to close health care gaps for vulnerable groups including foreign residents and subcontractor workers.

"Dong-gu in Ulsan has a large number of foreign nationals and subcontractor workers from companies including HD Hyundai Heavy, and we have been running health promotion programs to ensure they are not left out of medical benefits," center director Park Su-hwan said.
