Inauguration ceremony for the 9th directly elected Mapo-gu district mayor set for July 7 at 3 p.m. at Mapo-gu Office main auditorium; resident applications open through July 3
Mapo-gu is accepting public applications from residents who wish to attend the inauguration ceremony for the 9th directly elected district mayor, to be held July 7 at 3 p.m. in the main auditorium on the second floor of Mapo-gu Office.
The ceremony marks the start of the new administration and is designed to share with residents the vision and governing priorities that will guide Mapo-gu over the next four years.
The event is structured as a participatory ceremony in which residents take an active role in shaping the program alongside district officials.
Resident representatives will take the stage to participate directly in a "9th-term vision proclamation and inauguration celebration performance," helping to open the new administration with a shared moment of ceremony.
A video featuring resident interviews on the theme "Our Hopes for the 9th-Term District Mayor" will also be screened, creating a forum for residents to share their visions for Mapo-gu's future and their expectations for the incoming administration.
The event will also be open to members of the general public, who are invited to attend and celebrate the first steps of the new term in person.
Residents wishing to attend may apply through July 3 by scanning the QR code on promotional materials posted on Mapo-gu Office's official social media channels and Mapo TV.
Any Mapo-gu resident is eligible to apply, and 50 spots are available in total.
If applications exceed that number, attendees will be selected by lottery, and winners will be notified individually by text message.
For further details on resident participation in the inauguration ceremony, contact the Mapo-gu Office Administrative Support Division.
"The 9th-term inauguration ceremony is a meaningful occasion to welcome the start of a new administration together with our residents," a Mapo-gu official said. "The next four years will be shaped by the voices of our community, and we hope everyone will join us in celebrating this new beginning filled with hope and change."
