First reconstruction project in Mokdong Sinsigage to carry name 'Acro Mokdong Regency'; complex to maximize views of Han River and Anyang Stream, unique in Mokdong
DL E&C has been confirmed as the contractor for the Mokdong 6 complex reconstruction project, the first reconstruction development in the Mokdong Sinsigage area.
According to industry sources, DL E&C secured the contractor position Saturday at a general meeting of the Mokdong 6 complex association held at Yangjeong High School gymnasium in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, winning 1,032 of 1,196 votes cast, or 86.2%.
The redeveloped Mokdong 6 complex will rise up to 49 above-ground floors with 3 below-ground levels, comprising 14 buildings and 2,184 units based on the alternative design plan. Construction costs reach 1.29 trillion won ($833 million). DL E&C, which had proposed "Acro Mokdong Regency" as the new complex name, was first designated as the preferred negotiating partner before formally securing contractor status through the general meeting.
"Acro Mokdong Regency has the locational advantage of being the only site in Mokdong that offers simultaneous views of both the Han River and Anyang Stream," a DL E&C official said. "Through collaboration with globally renowned design masters, we will present the finest view-oriented and landscape-specialized design in Mokdong."
DL E&C has expanded the number of units with premium Han River views to 116 percent of the association member household count, ensuring that river views translate into value appreciation across the entire complex. The company also plans to raise construction quality through a partnership with Arup, the British firm with a global reputation in supertall structural engineering. Global landscape design group MSP will handle the landscaping.
Specialized floor plans will be applied to a total of 1,554 units, including penthouses and duplex houses featuring double-height structures and wide terraces. Select lower-floor units are planned to have private gardens and dedicated terraces. The project also proposes a top-tier education platform community befitting Mokdong's status as a designated education special district. Amenities will include an indoor swimming pool, a family spa, a private dining room, and Han River view-oriented facilities such as a river-view sky lounge and a river-view sky pool villa.
"Based on global design capabilities and a residential philosophy worthy of being Mokdong's first Acro title, we will complete a symbolic landmark that leads Mokdong's future value," a DL E&C official said.
Meanwhile, DL E&C posted provisional first-quarter consolidated sales of 1.73 trillion won and operating profit of 157.4 billion won. Building on this contract win, the company plans to pursue further projects in the Mokdong area as well as contractor positions at key Seoul urban renewal sites including the Seongsu District 2 zone and Yeouido.
