Actor Moon Chae-won married Sunday.
Moon held a private ceremony at an undisclosed venue in Seoul, wedding a groom who is not in the entertainment industry. Out of consideration for the groom and both families, attendance was limited to immediate family and close relatives.
Moon personally announced the news to her fans in April, saying, "I feel a little nervous at the thought of building and nurturing a family, but more than anything, I feel excited." She added that she plans to continue working in a wider variety of roles going forward.
Following the announcement, speculation about the groom spread online. Rumors that she was marrying a younger dermatologist and claims of a premarital pregnancy circulated widely, but both were confirmed to be false.
Moon addressed the dermatologist rumor directly on her YouTube channel, saying the claim was untrue. Her agency also issued an official statement calling the pregnancy rumors "completely groundless."
Wedding photos released ahead of the ceremony drew attention as well. Dressed in an all-white wedding gown, Moon projected a pure and elegant air that reflected her excitement ahead of the wedding.
Moon made her debut in 2007 in the SBS sitcom "Dallyeora! Godeungeo." She went on to earn a wide following through drama series including "Painter of the Wind," "Shining Inheritance," "The Princess' Man," "Nice Guy," "Good Doctor," "Flower of Evil" and "Money Heist: Korea." Her film credits include "War of the Arrows," "Today's Love" and "Heartman."
Moon plans to continue her acting career after marriage.
