Yangcheon-gu announces two Grade 4 and three Grade 5 promotions effective July 1
Yangcheon-gu District Mayor Lee Gi-jae, who won re-election in the June 3 local elections, has announced a list of officials set for promotion to Grade 4 and Grade 5 positions effective July 1.
Lee defied expectations that his re-election bid would be an uphill battle, drawing widespread praise for his victory.
His re-election is widely attributed to residents' strong approval of his four-year administrative record, as well as their support for his efforts to advance large-scale reconstruction projects in the Mok-dong area.
Many residents had feared that a defeat for Lee would jeopardize reconstruction prospects across Mok-dong, and that concern appears to have shaped the election result.
In the personnel reshuffle that follows, General Affairs Division chief Yoo Hyun-jeong and Mok 2-dong head Noh Jin-suk have joined the ranks of those promoted to Grade 4, equivalent to director level.
Three officials will be elevated to Grade 5, equivalent to division chief: Kwon Myeong-jin of the Planning and Budget Division, Shin Geun-sik of the Housing Division, and Lee Gwang-hwa of the Sinwol 7-dong office.
The full list of those slated for promotion is as follows.
