Lotte Global Logistics announced Friday that it had successfully completed an exchange event for individuals with borderline intellectual functioning, held jointly with the Seoul Metropolitan Government's lifelong education support center for such individuals.

"Borderline intellectual functioning" refers to people with an IQ between 70 and 79 — below the threshold for an intellectual disability diagnosis — who nonetheless struggle with daily life and social adaptation. They are often described as "slow learners."

Since 2023, Lotte Global Logistics has run continuous support activities for the fourth consecutive year, aiming to unlock the potential of these individuals and promote greater social inclusion.

At the event held Tuesday, about 40 young adults with borderline intellectual functioning joined Lotte Global Logistics employees for a range of programs designed to build emotional bonds and a sense of closeness.

Participants took part in an art session focused on understanding one another through color and emotion, as well as a communication workshop aimed at fostering deeper mutual connection.

"We will continue to do our utmost to build a society where everyone grows together through sustained exchange and support," a company official said.

Lotte Global Logistics also plans to run an awareness campaign for borderline intellectual functioning individuals in the second half of this year.

Meanwhile, the company continues to pursue a range of corporate social responsibility initiatives — including a donation ceremony held May 28 at the Bobath Children's Rehabilitation Center inside Bobath Hospital in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, where it presented 30 million won ($19,400) to support young patients undergoing rehabilitation.
