20 couples to take part Friday, with activities including a river boat date
City hopes event will encourage young singles to settle in Ulsan
Ulsan city is hosting a matchmaking event for single working adults Friday afternoon, hoping to help participants forge lasting relationships and put down roots in the city. The event, called "U:ON Romantic Day," is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Ulsan City Convention.
The city recruited participants between June 1 and June 11, targeting unmarried working adults between the ages of 35 and 42 (born between 1984 and 1991). A total of 136 people applied, and 40 were selected — 20 men and 20 women — to take part in Friday's event.
Billed as the "Season 1 Summer" edition, the program features one-on-one conversation rounds, team games, a boat date on the Taehwa River, a busking performance and a final partner-matching segment — all designed to help participants connect naturally.
"We hope this event gives working adults, who often find it hard to meet someone new amid the routine of daily life, a chance to form meaningful connections and make Ulsan their permanent home," a city official said.
The city plans to hold a "Season 2" event in October targeting working adults between the ages of 27 and 34 (born between 1992 and 1999).
