Daegu city announced Friday that it will launch a pilot "association operations consulting" program in partnership with the Korea Real Estate Board starting June 29 to strengthen the operational capacity and transparency of redevelopment and reconstruction project associations.
Urban renewal projects tend to generate complaints and disputes during association operations due to their large scale and lengthy timelines. Oversight has traditionally focused on after-the-fact inspections, leaving associations with limited support for resolving operational difficulties in the early stages of a project.
The consulting program will primarily target redevelopment and reconstruction associations established within the past two years or that have yet to select a contractor, though associations outside those criteria may also apply.
Applications can be submitted through the Korea Real Estate Board's website or the relevant district or county office responsible for urban renewal projects.
The consulting will cover all aspects of association operations, including service contracts, administrative affairs, budgeting and accounting, and information disclosure.
A specialist consulting group composed of lawyers, accountants, Korea Real Estate Board officials and local government civil servants will visit project sites directly to assess issues and recommend improvements, providing tailored support at each stage of the project.
Follow-up support will continue after on-site consultations, with the group monitoring whether recommended improvements have been implemented and offering additional advice on emerging issues.
