Award goes to player with best average drive distance for the season
Sponsor says honor aligns with Upbit's brand philosophy of expanding possibilities
Dunamu, the operator of virtual asset exchange Upbit, announced Friday it will serve as a naming sponsor on the 2026 KPGA Tour, backing the newly created Upbit Long Drive Award.
The Upbit Long Drive Award will be presented to the player who records the highest average drive distance over the course of the season. It will be given out at the year-end awards ceremony, recognizing consistent performance and competitiveness throughout the season.
Through the sponsorship, Dunamu said it plans to support players' competitive spirit and contribute to the development of professional golf in South Korea. The company also aims to broaden its reach across a diverse customer base — including golf fans — and offer a more accessible and differentiated brand experience as a digital financial platform.
"The Upbit Long Drive Award goes to the player who has shown the drive and potential to go the farthest, which resonates with Upbit's brand philosophy of seeking new opportunities and expanding possibilities," a Dunamu official said. "We are honored to cheer on the relentless effort and passion of KPGA Tour players."
Meanwhile, the KPGA Tour is the top-tier men's professional golf circuit organized by the Korea Professional Golf Association. Leading male professional golfers compete throughout the season across individual tournaments, vying for prize money, player-of-the-year points, the rookie award and various statistical honors.
