Actor Hwang Jung-eum sought a spiritual reading to check her fortunes.

A video titled "The day I finally get my fortune read after being turned away at every shaman's" was uploaded to Hwang's YouTube channel on Wednesday.

In the video, Hwang visited a shaman to consult about her romantic prospects and chances of remarriage.

When the shaman said, "You are a descendant much cherished by your ancestors. Right now, there is a grandmother beside you, constantly reaching out and feeling so heartbroken for you," Hwang broke into tears she had been holding back. "My maternal grandmother actually raised me," she said. "She passed away just as my acting career was really taking off." The shaman offered comfort, saying, "Your grandmother says she will help you and lift you up. She is still sitting right beside you."

The shaman also told Hwang she was "born to be an entertainer," warning that if she stepped away from the industry she could face illness or other hardships. Hwang laughed in agreement, saying, "I've lived as an attention-seeker — how could I ever live quietly?"

When asked about the possibility of remarriage, the shaman said there was no suitable partner in sight. "If the wrong person comes in, your energy gets completely drained — that is just the kind of fate you have. It is more important for you to hold on to your own energy. There is nothing wrong with staying single and dating freely."

Hwang said her ideal partner would be someone she could respect, but the shaman was skeptical. "That person won't come along. It is not easy to find someone who truly meets your standards, and your fate is not one built on a man's support," she said.
