Gyeongbuk Health University has been selected as the contracted training provider for the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education's "2026 Basic Life Support Education for Health Teachers" program, the university announced Wednesday.

Under the arrangement, the university will run three sessions of basic life support (BLS) training for health teachers across North Gyeongsang Province from July through August.

Each cohort will complete a six-hour course, with all sessions held at the BLS practice room and seminar room inside the university's SHINE Simulation Center.

The training will draw on the center's hands-on infrastructure — including CPR monitoring mannequins, automated external defibrillators (AED) and simulation equipment — with a focus on strengthening participants' ability to respond to real-world emergencies.

The curriculum covers basic CPR theory, adult and pediatric CPR practice, airway obstruction first aid, AED operation, and written and practical assessments.

Instructors will include nursing faculty holding doctoral degrees in nursing and BLS, KBLS and KALS instructor certifications from the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, as well as simulation education specialists.
