Singer G.NA, who received a fine on charges of overseas prostitution, is set to return to the music scene after more than a decade with a remake of her signature song "Kkeojeojulge Jal Salaya" ("I'll Disappear, Live Well").

G.NA announced Monday on her Instagram that the fan vote had officially selected "Kkeojeojulge Jal Salaya" as the first remake track.

"Reading your messages made me feel once again how much this song has meant to so many people — and to me personally," she said. "It felt like the most fitting song to start over with."

She added that she is currently working on the remake. "Thank you for helping me choose the song, and for staying by my side all this time," she said.

G.NA, a Canadian national, debuted in 2010 with "Kkeojeojulge Jal Salaya," which topped multiple music charts and earned wide popularity. She went on to enjoy the height of her career with a string of hits including "Black & White," "Top Girl," "2HOT" and "Oops."

Her career came to a halt in 2016 after she was found guilty on charges of overseas prostitution and received a summary fine of 2 million won ($1,300). She had been accused of receiving 35 million won after having sexual relations with a Korean-American businessman, and 15 million won from another businessman for the same. G.NA denied the charges, claiming she had been deceived into believing the encounters were blind dates.

G.NA recently resumed contact with fans through social media, and the announcement of the remake signals her full return to active promotions.
