Shinsegae I&C will release Nintendo and PS5 physical packages for two of its published game intellectual properties — "My Little Puppy" and "Solarateria."

The company announced Tuesday that the packages stem from exclusive global console publishing agreements it signed last year for both titles. It designed the package contents and domestic and international retail strategies with each IP's artistic qualities and fandom in mind, as part of a broader push to expand its footprint in the gaming sector.

"My Little Puppy," developed by Dreammotions, and "Solarateria," by Studio Dudal, are both available on Steam, the global PC gaming platform. The two games have earned "overwhelmingly positive" and "very positive" ratings on the platform, respectively, Shinsegae I&C said.

"My Little Puppy" is a story-driven single-player adventure game inspired by the idea that when a person dies, their dog — who passed before them — comes to greet them. Players take on the role of Bonggu, a Welsh Corgi living in a dog paradise beyond the Rainbow Bridge, and accompany him on a journey to welcome his owner, who has just begun the passage to the afterlife.

The "My Little Puppy" console package launches Wednesday. Available for Nintendo and PS5, it comes in two editions: a standard first-press edition and a limited edition. The first-press edition includes the game title and a lenticular postcard, priced at 39,800 won (about $26). The limited edition adds a handkerchief, a keyring, stickers and a picture book telling the story of Bonggu's reunion and farewell with his owner, priced at 84,800 won.

The package will also be listed on Play-Asia, a Hong Kong-based online retail platform specializing in games, in addition to domestic channels.

"Solarateria" is a 2D action Metroidvania game built around hand-drawn artwork. Players control a small fire spirit born into a dying world and set out on a quest to find the "First Flame," the last hope for saving it. The game centers on parry-based combat — timing attacks precisely against enemies — and wide-ranging exploration across an expansive world.

The "Solarateria" console package releases July 23 as a Nintendo exclusive. Like "My Little Puppy," it will be available in both a first-press edition and a limited edition.

The first-press edition includes two lenticular cards featuring popular characters, priced at 34,800 won. The limited edition comes with an art map, marker stickers, an NFC-linked OST keyring, a mini keycap and an acrylic diorama, priced at 69,800 won. Shinsegae I&C said it designed the limited edition as a collector's package — combining character IP, music and artwork — to give fans a distinctive ownership experience.

Both the "My Little Puppy" and "Solarateria" Nintendo and PS5 packages will also be available through online channels including Shinsegae I&C's Naver Smart Store, Gamepia and Yepan Net.

The company said it plans to use the console package launch to convert the strong user response seen in digital versions into demand for physical products, broadening the retail reach of its published game IPs.

"We focused on extending high-quality game IPs into physical packages and crafting package compositions and retail strategies that reflect the world-building and fandom characteristics of each title," said Jeong Sang-ho, head of platform business at Shinsegae I&C. "Going forward, we will continue to identify competitive IPs that reflect the segmented demands of the gaming market — across genre, fandom and platform — and expand our publishing portfolio through optimized package planning."
