Model and actor Kim Jin-kyung has disabled comments on her social media accounts after a wave of abusive posts targeting her husband, national team goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu, spilled over onto her pages.
On June 19, Kim Jin-kyung posted a childbirth vlog on her YouTube channel "Charm Jinkyung."
The video documented her journey from the final days of her pregnancy through the moment she cradled her newborn daughter, whom she delivered safely on June 4.
Kim Seung-gyu had left the country to join the national team for the 2026 World Cup, leaving his wife to prepare for and go through the birth alone. Many online users responded to the vlog with congratulations.

The mood shifted after South Korea's national football team lost to Mexico. Some online users went beyond criticizing Kim Seung-gyu and began leaving abusive comments on Kim Jin-kyung's Instagram and YouTube channel, drawing widespread condemnation for crossing the line.
South Korea fell to Mexico in their Group A second-round match on June 19 at Estadio Guadalajara in Zapopan, near Guadalajara, Mexico (all times Korea Standard Time).
Five minutes into the second half, Kim Seung-gyu collided with defender Lee Gyu-hyeok and lost control of the ball. It rolled to Mexican midfielder Luis Romo and ultimately led to Mexico's goal.
After the defeat, some fans directed their anger not only at Kim Seung-gyu but also at his wife and newborn child. Other online users condemned the behavior, saying those responsible had "crossed the line."
Kim Jin-kyung ultimately disabled comments on her accounts to block the abusive posts.
