A transition committee for Do Seong-hun, Incheon's first three-term education superintendent, officially launched Monday under the name "Read Walk Write AI Student Success Promotion Committee," kicking off its activities with an inauguration ceremony.
The committee has adopted "Completing the Era of Student Success through Read Walk Write AI" as the vision for the fifth directly elected term of Incheon education. It will operate through July 30, coordinating Do's campaign pledges, policy direction and budget planning.
Lee Gap-young, former vice president of Incheon National University, was named committee chair, with Oh Seung-han, head of the Incheon chapter of the Korea-China Cultural Association, serving as vice chair. The committee operates under eight subcommittees and four special committees.
The committee plans to function as an "open, participatory transition body," particularly by running a policy advisory panel that includes teachers, students, parents, youth and AI education experts.
"We will carefully design concrete action plans and a phased fiscal roadmap, placing the growth and success of Incheon students as our top priority so that the promises made to citizens during the election can come alive in schools," committee chair Lee said.
