Mercedes-Benz Korea is giving customers an early look at the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class ahead of its domestic launch in the third quarter, bringing the flagship sedan to major showrooms across the country. The preview comes in response to strong interest the model has drawn since pre-orders opened.
The "New Mercedes-Benz S-Class Road Show" runs June 22 through Aug. 4, kicking off at showrooms in Suwon and Busan's Haeundae district before moving to more than 18 official Mercedes-Benz showrooms nationwide in sequence.
Pre-orders for the new S-Class opened May 18 and have since surpassed 1,750 units — a combined figure for the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the new Maybach S-Class. The entire third-quarter delivery allocation has already sold out.
Mercedes-Benz Korea said the road show will allow customers to examine the vehicle's design, interior layout, digital features and driving technology up close. Each showroom will offer docent-led vehicle tours as well as interactive programs highlighting the S-Class's key features.
The updated model retains the S-Class's signature premium cabin and smooth ride while improving the digital experience and driving performance. The full lineup runs Mercedes-Benz's operating system, MB.OS, delivering a more intuitive and personalized user experience. The company said refinements to the powertrain and driver-assistance technology give the car a composed and effortless feel behind the wheel.
The lineup comprises six variants: the S 350 d 4MATIC, S 450 4MATIC, S 450 4MATIC Long Exclusive, S 450 4MATIC Long AMG Line, S 500 4MATIC Long and S 580 4MATIC Long. Prices, inclusive of a 5 percent individual consumption tax and value-added tax, range from 154 million won to 270 million won (about $100,000 to $196,000).
Two limited-edition launch models are also available, each capped at 140 units: the S 450 4MATIC Long AMG Line "AMG Line Plus Edition" and the S 500 4MATIC Long "Sparkling Black Edition."
Pre-orders are open at all 65 official Mercedes-Benz showrooms nationwide and through the Mercedes-Benz Store online sales platform. The new S-Class is scheduled for an official domestic launch in the third quarter of this year, with detailed specifications to be announced at a later date.
"We are deeply grateful for our customers' unwavering attention to the Mercedes-Benz flagship sedan," said Kim Eun-joong, vice president of product and sales at Mercedes-Benz Korea. "We hope this nationwide road show will give customers across the country a meaningful opportunity to experience the new S-Class firsthand and discover its value for themselves."
