Screening greenery and seasonal landscape plantings installed beneath the covered parking structure at Jeungsan Bridge
Seodaemun-gu, led by District Mayor Lee Seong-heon, has completed the "Bulhwangcheon Ecological Restoration and Greening Project," aimed at improving the stream's landscape and creating a more pleasant environment for visitors.
The project focused on improving the appearance of the covered parking structure beneath Jeungsan Bridge and Jeungsan 3rd Bridge, and transforming the greenbelts along the walking path into spaces that reflect the changing seasons.
The district planted 63 Blue Arrow junipers, 20 golden arborvitae, 470 hollyhocks, 1,780 Japanese irises and 970 plantain lilies around the artificial structures to improve the surrounding landscape.
Along the Bulhwangcheon walking path, the district planted 2,770 hydrangeas, 70 reeds and 540 royal azaleas in the greenbelt to offer visitors varied seasonal scenery throughout the year.
The plantings add a screening effect to spaces that previously appeared monotonous due to existing structures, creating a layered green landscape. The formation of diverse plant communities also improves the stream's ecological environment.
Seodaemun-gu plans to continue upgrading the green landscape along Bulhwangcheon so residents can enjoy the beauty of each season up close during their walks.
