Yecheon-gun in North Gyeongsang Province has introduced integrated health screenings for foreign seasonal workers for the first time.

According to Yecheon-gun on Monday, the county's health center ran a pilot program called "Integrated Health Screening for Foreign Residents in Korea" for about 100 foreign seasonal workers at its health promotion center on Sunday.

The pilot program is led by KDCA. Yecheon-gun is the first county in North Gyeongsang Province selected as a participating site.

The screenings cover tuberculosis, HIV, sexually transmitted infections, hepatitis C, Hansen's disease, skin conditions and general health checkups.

Workers who require follow-up care will be referred to medical institutions for further testing and treatment.

"We carried out the integrated screening in cooperation with the agricultural policy division and related agencies to protect the health of foreign seasonal workers and prevent infectious diseases," said Im Mi-ran, head of the county health center. "We will continue to do our best to close gaps in medical access and prevent infectious diseases in the community."
