Gyeongil University's ReON project team signed an MOU with the North Gyeongsang Province Nurses Association on June 18 at the association's new headquarters to promote community health and welfare.

The agreement aims to expand community health support services and build a regional-industry-academic cooperation framework through the coordination and use of professional personnel and resources, based on North Gyeongsang Province's RISE project.

Under the MOU, the two organizations agreed to jointly operate community health promotion programs, pursue education and awareness campaigns in the health and welfare sectors, and develop tailored community health support services.

Last month, the ReON project team ran major-based volunteer activities in Yeongdeok and Andong, with students from the departments of nursing, sports rehabilitation medicine, and beauty styling taking part to provide health and welfare services.

Kim Yeong-sil, president of the North Gyeongsang Province Nurses Association, said North Gyeongsang Province has entered a super-aged society, making education, preventive activities, and awareness-raising campaigns on health and welfare increasingly important. "We expect that linking the university's educational capabilities with the expertise of nursing professionals in the field will provide practical benefits to the community," Kim said.

Lee Hui-jun, head of the ReON project team, said the agreement would help give concrete shape to a range of support systems for improving residents' health. "We plan to work together to advance health support programs that the community needs," Lee said.
