Karina and Winter of K-pop group aespa joined the Red Devils at the World Cup, cheering on South Korea's national football team in person.

Karina posted a short video on her social media Friday showing the two at Estadio Guadalajara in Mexico, where South Korea played the Czech Republic in their Group A opener at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In the clip, Karina and Winter wore matching red South Korea jerseys and waved the South Korean flag as they cheered on the team.

"Fighting, players," Karina wrote, wishing the national team victory.

The two departed through Incheon International Airport on Wednesday to join the "2026 FIFA World Cup Coca-Cola Overseas Cheering Squad." Singer Kwon Eun-bi also joined the group on the trip.

The opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup was held Friday in Mexico City. Korean-American singer-songwriter Lee Jae, who gained global attention through the Netflix series "K-Pop Demon Hunters," performed the official World Cup anthem "DNA" at the ceremony.

South Korea opened their campaign against the Czech Republic on Friday and will next face Mexico on June 19, before rounding out the group stage against South Africa on June 25.
