Yeungjin University signed a memorandum of understanding with North Gyeongsang Software Meister High School on Friday at the university's main building conference room. The MOU aims to promote a work-and-learn program — which allows students to work first and pursue higher education later — and to expand customized employment services for high school students.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will broaden cooperation across a range of areas, including company-tailored education support, job placement assistance for current students and graduates, joint development and operation of work-and-learn linked curricula, faculty and student exchanges, joint training programs, and co-development of learning materials.

The two institutions also agreed to collaborate on global competency programs, pursuing practical English education and global career pathways through the Daegu-Gyeongbuk English Village camp operated by Yeungjin University.

Lee Chang-seok, principal of North Gyeongsang Software Meister High School, said he wanted to help students "design their dreams and plan their futures so that they can grow through lifelong learning, not just work after getting a job."

Park Jong-baek, vice president of Yeungjin University, said the agreement "will serve as a model work-first, study-later program built together by a meister high school and a junior college." He added that the university would "actively support students in growing at local industrial sites and developing into core talent with global competitiveness."
