Yeungnam University of Science and Technology held a World Cup cheering and cultural experience event for international students on Friday at Cheonma Square Room 1033 in Daegu. Participants gathered to watch and cheer on South Korea's World Cup match against Mexico, building community across national, linguistic and cultural boundaries. More than 70 people attended, including international students from Mexico, Nepal, Mongolia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kyrgyzstan, as well as faculty and staff. Kang Gyeong-woo, head of the university's Office of International Affairs, said the school would continue to expand practical support to help international students settle in comfortably both academically and in their daily lives, and to grow alongside the local community.
