The transition committee for South Jeolla-Gwangju Integrated Special City Mayor-elect Min Hyeong-bae — formally named the South Jeolla-Gwangju Great Transformation Planning Committee — will hold a series of town hall meetings organized by region and policy sector to gather public input.
Over the two weeks leading up to the integrated special city's launch on July 1, the committee plans to host town halls covering the eastern, western, and central-southern areas of the region.
Separate sector-focused sessions will also be held on topics including entrepreneurship, farming, women's issues and culture.
Feedback collected through the meetings will be incorporated into the new city's governance blueprint and core strategic priorities.
The committee also plans to begin formal discussions on developing a new set of symbols to capture the identity and vision of the integrated special city.
In parallel, the committee will review implementation tasks including fiscal management direction, corporate investment attraction strategies and essential ordinance reforms following the city's launch.
