Singer and actor IU drew attention after being spotted at a wedding Saturday.
The mother of child actor Kim Tae-yeon, 15, posted on her daughter's Instagram on Saturday, writing that Tae-yeon had fulfilled a dream by meeting IU — her "all-time favorite in the world" — right beside her at a wedding.
Photos shared alongside the post showed IU and Kim Tae-yeon standing together for a group photo at the event. IU appeared neatly dressed in a white shirt and black jacket, her hair pulled back, smiling for the camera.
Kim's mother praised IU for her warmth, writing that the singer had taken care to acknowledge her daughter's feelings over a small gift and expressed gratitude until the very end. "Goodness, what a kind person," she wrote, adding, "She really is the best." She said both she and Tae-yeon had their hearts flutter more than once, and closed with well-wishes: "Ji-eun (IU's real name), please stay healthy. May only good things come your way. We pray for your happiness always."
IU attended the wedding of a bodyguard from the security firm that had been protecting her. She also performed her song "Blueming" as a congratulatory number at the ceremony.
Kim Tae-yeon played the childhood version of Ae-sun — the role IU portrayed as an adult — in the Netflix drama series "When Life Gives You Tangerines," which was a major hit last year. Her performance earned her a nomination for best new actress at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards.
