Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu has shared abusive direct messages he received from a stranger, posting screenshots of the exchange on social media.
Jang posted the screenshots Sunday, revealing messages from an anonymous sender who identified himself as a neighbor. The sender hurled a series of insults, writing: "Live in a way you won't be ashamed of in front of your children," "Protect your dignity as a man instead of chasing money," "People in their 20s and 30s are crying tears of blood right now," and "Are you happy making money by acting like a [expletive]?"
Jang said he was taken aback. "What? A neighbor is sending me this?" he wrote.
A few hours later, the sender returned with an apology. "I drank too much. I'm sorry. I was upset and just venting," he wrote, adding, "I didn't think you'd actually reply, so I just lashed out. I crossed a line. I'm sorry."
Jang accepted the apology. "It happens when you're drunk," he replied. "I was going to ignore it, but I couldn't let it go since you're a neighbor. Say hi if you see me on the street."
Sharing the full exchange publicly, Jang said the messages arriving at 4 a.m. had caught him off guard, but his frustration eased once the sender sobered up and apologized.
