Completion ceremony held Friday at Ulsan Garden Support Center after 90-hour training program

Ulsan, which aspires to become a "garden city," continues to produce citizen gardeners tasked with spreading garden culture throughout the community.

The city held a completion ceremony for its 2026 citizen gardener training program Friday afternoon at the Ulsan Garden Support Center, graduating 20 new citizen gardeners. The graduates completed 27 sessions totaling 90 hours of coursework — covering subjects including "Understanding Gardens" and "Garden Dendrology" — from March 23 through June 10.

The graduates will go on to promote garden culture by managing gardens and participating in garden events.

Since 2016, Ulsan has trained a total of 277 citizen gardeners. They help maintain Taehwagang National Garden and take part in city-organized events such as the Garden Story Fair and the Garden Ecology and Culture Festival, working to bring garden culture into everyday life.

"The citizen gardeners trained by Ulsan will also participate in the preparation and operation of the 2028 Ulsan International Garden Expo, helping to establish Ulsan as a world-class garden city," a city official said.
