Drill held Thursday at Gangseo-gu headquarters for some 50 employees

Hands-on exercises included descent device use, CPR, fire extinguisher operation and AED training

Air Busan conducted an industrial accident emergency drill for its employees Thursday at its headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Busan, the airline announced Friday.

The drill was designed to build practical response capabilities for various accidents and emergencies that can occur in the workplace, and to raise employees' safety awareness.

About 50 employees, including the airline's chief executive, took part in the exercise, reviewing emergency response procedures and completing hands-on training.

Set against a simulated in-building fire scenario, the drill was structured in stages covering descent device use, CPR, fire suppression with a fire extinguisher, and AED operation. AED hands-on training was added to the drill for the first time this year, strengthening employees' ability to respond in the critical early moments of a medical emergency.

"We will continue to strengthen on-site safety management capabilities through response drills and prevention activities covering a wide range of scenarios, and do our utmost to create a safe workplace," an Air Busan official said.

Meanwhile, Air Busan has been carrying out a range of activities to promote a culture of aviation safety — including an aviation safety experience program for children held last month in partnership with cabin crew from Jin Air and Air Seoul.
