Yemyung Graduate University launches AI Human Care Services major this fall
As AI technology spreads rapidly beyond industry into the welfare sector, a new graduate program combining AI and social welfare is set to open.
Yemyung Graduate University (President Lee Myung-bum) said it will establish an AI Human Care Services major starting this fall semester, aiming to train specialists to lead future-oriented welfare services.
The university, known as a graduate school specializing in social welfare, runs an adult-learner-centered curriculum backed by a strong faculty and structured academic management system. It supports working professionals, homemakers and others with time constraints by combining Saturday in-person classes with online coursework.
Degree programs are offered at the master's and doctoral levels. In addition to the new AI Human Care Services major, the university offers programs in welfare counseling psychology, silver culture welfare, cultural content welfare and Korean language education.
The master's program is open to applicants who hold or expect to receive a bachelor's degree, including those who earned their degree through a credit bank system. The doctoral program is open to those who hold or expect to receive a master's degree.
"Our goal is to cultivate the specialized talent that future society demands by merging AI technology with welfare services," a university official said. "We will present a new welfare paradigm where technological advancement and human-centered care work in harmony, and drive innovation in the field."
