Actor Yang Jung-ah, 54, has said she regrets rushing into marriage in her 40s because she felt self-conscious about what others thought of her age.

On the June 10 episode of KBS 1TV's "Let's Live Together with Hwang Shin-hye," Yang mentioned that she had married at 43, admitting, "I was in a hurry and did it quickly."

Co-host Hwang Shin-hye expressed surprise, saying, "You got married at an age when most people who married young are already coming back from divorce." Fellow panelist Shin Gye-suk pushed back, asking, "By that age you should have been mature enough — didn't you have the judgment to make a sound decision?"

Yang reflected, "I wasn't mature even then. Marriage, it seems, had nothing to do with being mature." She also revealed that she had lived with her parents until she married, spent about two years apart from them after the wedding, and moved back into her parents' home after the divorce.

Yang first gained public recognition as Miss Korea in 1990 and made her acting debut in 1993 as a 22nd-class MBC talent recruit. She married a businessman three years her junior in December 2013, but the couple parted ways after two years.
