Signs MOU with global real estate services firm CBRE to strengthen logistics and commercial real estate investment cooperation, build framework for responding to global supply chain shifts
Korea Ocean Business Corp. is expanding its US infrastructure investment program to stabilize global supply chains and help Korean companies secure overseas logistics networks.
The state-backed maritime investment agency signed a memorandum of understanding with CBRE, a global commercial real estate services firm, at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta on Wednesday to strengthen cooperation on logistics and commercial real estate investment in the US market. The two organizations said the agreement aims to jointly identify and review commercial real estate and related investment opportunities in the United States, and to build a cooperative framework for responding to shifts in global supply chains.
Under the MOU, the two sides plan to collaborate across a range of areas: identifying and reviewing potential investment opportunities; conducting market research, site selection and strategic advisory services; providing support for logistics, industrial facility and port assets as well as other commercial real estate assets; introducing strategic partners including developers, investors and operators; offering due diligence support and local market intelligence; and identifying opportunities to support Korean companies entering the US market.
Korea Ocean Business Corp. said the agreement is expected to broaden its access to potential logistics assets in the United States and strengthen its global investment network, reinforcing its standing as a global logistics and supply chain investment institution. "We plan to continue expanding cooperation with top-tier global partners to actively support Korean companies' overseas expansion and help them secure stable supply chains," a company official said.
Meanwhile, following the signing ceremony, Korea Ocean Business Corp. held an investment briefing for Korean companies operating in the Americas, titled "Americas Global Logistics and Supply Chain Investment Support Forum." The event was organized to outline the agency's logistics infrastructure investment support programs, assess the local investment environment, identify potential co-investors, and conduct preliminary demand research for a second global logistics and supply chain fund currently in development.
