The residential market near Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek is drawing attention, backed by a stable base of demand. The base, known as the largest US military installation in the world, is home to more than 45,000 personnel — including soldiers, civilian employees and their families — a significant portion of whom live off-base, sustaining steady demand in the surrounding rental market.
US military personnel and civilian employees place particular weight on proximity to the base, lifestyle infrastructure and security conditions, making new apartments and large residential complexes especially appealing. Because US military housing must also meet specific standards, demand tends to concentrate in complexes with superior facilities and management.
Industry observers expect that demand to continue as residential, commercial and transportation infrastructure around Camp Humphreys keeps expanding.
Amid this backdrop, The Platinum Pine Avenue — a new development in Songwha-ri, Paengseong-eup, Pyeongtaek — is drawing attention. Built by Ssangyong E&C, the complex will rise up to 15 above-ground floors across 21 buildings, with two below-ground floors and 1,048 units ranging from 74 to 115 square meters in exclusive use area.
