A teacher's account of receiving a complaint from a parent after a school field trip has gone viral online.

According to Newsis, a middle school teacher posted on an online community about receiving an angry phone call from a parent days after a field trip on June 8.

The parent complained that her eighth-grade child had been forced to travel to the field trip venue alone.

Teacher A, as the poster was identified, said the class had been divided into groups in advance. The student's groupmates had waited near the student's home to travel together, but the student overslept and missed them.

Even after the school explained this, the parent insisted the school should reimburse the taxi fare the child had paid to reach the subway station.

The parent also filed a complaint alleging that the homeroom teacher had failed to adequately account for the student's ADHD, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Teacher A expressed frustration, asking whether schools were now expected to teach eighth graders how to use the subway.

Online reactions were mixed. Some said the parent bore greater responsibility, while others called for stronger protections for teachers' rights. A few cautioned against criticizing the parent and student online, warning that public callouts could fuel further conflict.
