Bridgestone announced Wednesday that it has been selected as the exclusive original-equipment tire supplier for the Maserati MC Furia, a new super sports car. The custom tires feature a proprietary EMC and carcass structure developed specifically for the high-performance vehicle.

The MC Furia is the successor to the MC20, Maserati's first super sports car. It is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 630 horsepower and accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in under 2.9 seconds.

The vehicle will be fitted with a dedicated tire based on Bridgestone's ultra-high-performance Potenza Sport line. Bridgestone drew on its motorsport expertise and tread and EMC design capabilities to develop the MC Furia-specific specification, focusing on steering response, vehicle control and cornering stability.

The tires feature an asymmetric tread pattern designed to manage load transfer consistently across a range of driving conditions and maintain steady performance during high-speed runs and sharp directional changes.

Bridgestone also optimized contact patch distribution and thermal stability through its proprietary EMC formulation and a custom carcass structure. The combination is intended to deliver the grip and repeated-run performance demanded of a high-output sports car, as well as consistent lap times on track.

Development used Bridgestone's virtual tire development technology and predictive simulation tools to validate the tire's structure and performance at the design stage. Bridgestone and Maserati then conducted joint track tests to confirm high-speed stability and lateral acceleration performance.

This is not the first collaboration between the two companies. Bridgestone previously developed custom tires for the Maserati MC20, Grecale and Grecale Folgore.

"The MC Furia tire is a testament to Bridgestone's innovation capabilities and research and development expertise," said Adrien Torman, head of OE sales for Bridgestone's Europe, Middle East and Africa operations. "We will apply the technology and know-how accumulated during this development process across a wider range of products to serve more customers."
